Stedman’s Niece Shopping Tell All about His Relationship with Oprah

'The Butler' New York Premiere, 080513

*Something has gone awry between Oprah Winfrey’s longtime boyfriend Stedman Graham and his niece.

Courtney Shelton, the 36-year-old daughter of Stedman’s sister Anita, is reportedly writing a new tell-all that claims to expose the secrets of Winfrey’s mysterious relationship with Graham.

Shelton is said to be shopping the book to literary agents in a bid to get it on to bookshelves, a publishing source exclusively told The Enquirer.

“I was very shocked at the picture she painted of her family,” the source said. “She describes – in a written pitch – Stedman’s ‘abuse’ toward his family and how Oprah turned a blind eye to everything!

“She also claims some members of her own family treated Stedman’s daughter from a past marriage very badly.”

Per the Enquirer:

Stedman, 63, a motivational speaker, became engaged to marry Oprah in 1992, but the pair never wed and now say theirs is more a “spiritual union.” His daughter, Wendy, was born in 1975, before his divorce to ex-wife Glenda.

The ENQUIRER tracked down Atlanta-based Courtney to ask her about the exposé, and she confirmed she’s peddled it to “a select number of agents” over the last three months, but has yet to ink a publishing deal.

“This is what I do,” she told The ENQUIRER. “I work as a chef, but I’m a writer by trade.”

While Courtney did not elaborate on the book’s juicy contents, she said of 60-year-old Oprah: “At first, I just thought she’s my uncle’s girlfriend – but she wasn’t good for the family. The media frenzy made our problems much worse than what they really were, and she did nothing to help us.”

A Winfrey insider told The ENQUIRER: “It’s a betrayal because Oprah and Stedman did nothing to bring this on, but they obviously can’t control the actions of his family.

“Oprah had always been close to Stedman’s family members and never turned ‘a blind eye.’ When Wendy had some drinking problems in 2008, Oprah helped place her in a rehab facility.

“And before his mom passed away in 2010, Oprah and Stedman would often visit her at her home in New Jersey.

When Stedman was honored a few years back in his hometown, Oprah came out and encouraged the rest of his family to be there. The fact is he never abused anybody. Stedman’s one of the most honorable guys around.”

The book may detail the shocking stories about the duo previously reported by The ENQUIRER, including Oprah’s alleged drug use, jealousy, cheating, vicious gay rumors and explosive comments made by her dad!

According to an insider, Stedman “was furious” with Oprah’s ex-lover Randolph Cook, who revealed she used cocaine in the 1980s. The alleged drug use happened only a year before her talk show burst onto the national scene and months before she met Stedman, who deplores alcohol and drugs.

What’s more, sources said Oprah and Stedman underwent secret counseling sessions. One session “exploded in a torrent of confessions involving jealousy and cheating,” and at one point Oprah told him, “I don’t love you anymore,” sources said.

Nothing Is Funny About The Trolling Of Penie’s 2014 Self-Worth Upliftment Cartoon

A positive and uplifting cartoon titled “Self Worth” circulated the internet depicting a Black woman stepping over her obstacles of last year– like jealousy, heartbreak, negativity and temper– to embrace a new year with “love”, “peace”, “focus” and “God” to guide her. It was drawn by a Black female artist that can be found on Instagram @Peniel_Enchill, whose work is dedicated to Black beauty and high fashion.

Sadly, the pic was altered by an obviously misogynistic, confused, fellow that goes by the twitter handle @MrGotcha_Bitch.

2e0l44g

Here is a look at some of the, in his own words, “more real” (or realistic, I suppose) changes he decided were necessary:

Screen Shot 2015-01-02 at 3.18.32 PM

The second cartoon displays a Black woman stepping into the New Year, visibly pregnant (despite the fact that she had abortions in the year 2014?). The whereabout of her hair bun and her boyfriend are also in question. Luckily, the woman has somehow managed to maintain her self-esteem, even though she spent the year prior “tricking”, “boosting” and “lying”.

Many Black women took to message boards to express disgust and dismay about the changes made to the image, calling it “disgusting”, “degrading” and an obvious “attack on Black women”.  If nothing else, the cartoon was most certainly an attack on the Black female artist’s work.

Yet, it seems that the man responsible for such negative reactions sees this as nothing more than a joke. When asked what he thought about all of the women who were offended by the “parody”, he responded, “when I see something I don’t like I keep it moving…. I don’t troll people……. ”

Okay. It is obvious that we should not expect any degree of intelligence from this human being, but is he serious? By taking the work of a Black female artist, made to inspire and uplift other Black woman, and degrading the imagery and purpose, he is doing precisely what he is angry others have (and will continue to do) to him: trolling. Per a quick Wikipedia search of the word: “a troll is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous or off-topic messages in an online community with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response.”

@MrGotcha_Bitch, you are a troll.

Furthermore, your humor is baseless, tactless and quickly reveals why you have only managed to accrue 597 followers, despite filling the online world with 10.9k of your mostly misogynistic, immature and distasteful comedy. It comes as no surprise that the man who uses the word “bitch”, “bae” or “dick” in almost every post was only acquainted with misguided, lying, cheating and tricking Black women in 2014 who would inspire the creation of such depressing “parodies”.

Perhaps, in the year 2015, you should aspire to surround yourself with more intelligent, productive, hard-working, beautiful Black women, like the wonderful young lady who took the time and effort to produce quality art. That may require that you introduce some words other than “niggas” or “bitch” to your repertoire, though. Not sure if you could manage that. Still, I will give you a few words to start with: 1. misogyny, 2. propaganda” and (pardon me, this last one is a phrase) 3. black self-hate”.

After that rudimentary education, you may come to understand why so many Black women are not laughing at your comedy.

Immunotherapy represents ‘Holy Grail’ for breast cancer treatment

SAN ANTONIO — Debu Tripathy, MD, chair of breast medical oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and HemOnc Today Editorial Board member, discusses clinical updates presented at the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium which show that immunotherapy could provide a promising treatment for various forms of breast cancer.

“This is an area that has been a ‘Holy Grail’, if you will, in this field,” Tripathy told HemOnc Today. “We have long wondered whether the immune system itself could be harnessed to fight breast cancer cells. As we have learned more about how the immune system is controlled, there have been clear innovations in therapy that have made a big difference in melanoma, which is a type of cancer that does stimulate the immune system to a greater extent than breast cancer does.”

In particular, Tripathy highlighted study results that demonstrated that the PD-1 inhibitor pembrolizumab was well tolerated by women with recurrent or metastatic triple-negative breast cancer and showed early signs of effectiveness. In a second trial, the PD-L1 inhibitor MPDL3280A was also found to be safe and tolerable for women with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer, exhibiting tumor shrinkage in some patients.

“We are very encouraged by this because we believe that we can build on this as we understand more about the immune system and develop better drugs, and perhaps, better ways to select patients that are most likely to respond,” Tripathy said. “Also, it is possible that the immune system can be overwhelmed by a large number of cancer cells that you might see in someone with advanced breast cancer, and it may be in an early stage breast cancer, where we want to further lower the risk of recurrence, that [immunotherapy] may be more successful.”

Tech Five: Apple facing suit over iPhone storage

apple

Apple is facing another class-action lawsuit, this time over storage on the iPhone. Let’s look at the technology stocks to watch on the first trading day of 2015.

Apple. The tech giant has been accused of misrepresenting the amount of storage on its popular iPhone in a class-action lawsuit filed in a California court, reports Apple Insider. The lawsuit claims Apple did not disclose how much storage space would be consumed when iPhone owners installed the company’s latest operating system, iOS 8. The suit also claims Apple is limiting storage to sell more users on iCloud upgrades.

GoPro. The roller-coaster ride for the high-definition camera maker continues. Shares are up 2.7% in pre-market trading, after ending 2014 with declines of more than 3%. Since December 19, GoPro shares have added $10 in value.

Twitter. The social network has started rolling out a new features called “while you were away,” reports TechCrunch. The feature updates users on tweets they missed while not connected to Twitter.

Yahoo. How’s this for an interesting Yahoo acquisition: Business Insider reports CEO Marissa Mayer considered buying the cable channel Scripps Networks Interactive. Yahoo has participated in a buying frenzy since Mayer took over, highlighted by the $1.1 billion deal to acquire Tumblr.

Sony. The company says it will offer discounts and trial extensions for online service PlayStation Network for an outage that knocked out the service for Christmas Day and several days later. PSN, along with Xbox Live, were brought down during the holiday by a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.

Chick-fil-A announces possible data breach, warns customers of fraudulent charges

Diners looking for a quick meal at Chick-fil-A should proceed with caution. The company announced Wednesday that it is looking into a possible data breach.

Chick-fil-A spokeswoman Carrie Kurlander said in a statement the fast-food chain has received reports of suspicious activity involving payment cards used at some of its restaurants.

“We want to assure our customers we are working hard to investigate these events and will share additions facts as we are able to do so,” Ms. Kurlander said.

The company has hired an independent IT contractor to investigate the fraud charges. If a breach is confirmed, Chick-fil-A will absolve affected customers of the charges, Information Week reported.

“Any fraudulent charges will be the responsibility of either Chick-fil-A or the bank that issued the card. If our customers are impacted, we will arrange for free identity protection services, including credit monitoring,” Ms. Kurlander said.

The company first learned of the suspicious charges on Dec. 19. Chick-fil-A did not reveal whether or not customers’ contact information would be compromised by the breach but confirmed that the company is working with federal law enforcement to investigate the matter and urged customers to monitor their bank accounts for fraudulent charges.

The possible data breach comes almost a year after major retail chain Target suffered a similar breach that caused financial institutions to lose nearly $500 million in card replacement costs and other expenses, according to the National Association of Federal Credit Unions.

Several other companies suffered data breaches in the last year, including Home Depot, Michaels, AOL, and Neiman Marcus.

CEO of Revlon Believes He Can ‘Smell’ Blacks When They Walk into a Room: Lawsuit Claims

A former chief scientific officer at Revlon has filed a lawsuit against the company alleging that he was fired unjustly and the CEO, Lorenzo Delpani, made racist remarks.

459200868-chairman-and-ceo-of-macandrews-forbes-holdings-inc-ron

Revlon isn’t having the best start to the new year as an explosive lawsuit launched against the company claims that CEO Lorenzo Delpani made several derogatory comments and believes that he can “smell” black people when they enter a room. But the allegations don’t stop there, Delpani who is Italian, also reportedly hates “small-minded, dirty Americans,” and thinks that all Jews “stick together,” according to  recently filed court documents viewed by the New York Post.

Delpani reportedly made the comments in 2013, shortly after taking over the company.

According to the lawsuit filed by Alan Meyers, 56, a former chief scientific officer at Revlon, Delpani reportedly wasn’t fond of America, as he allegedly “couldn’t wait to get back to a real country” and noted that the US was becoming more like the terrorist group ISIS. After a South Africa meeting, Meyers alleges that Delpani claimed he “could smell a black person when he entered a room.”

Delpani also was reportedly shocked to learn that the company didn’t have more Jews working there considering one of the biggest share holders, Ron Perelman, was a prominent Jewish businessman, the NY Post reports.

“Jews stick together,” Delpani allegedly said according to the lawsuit viewed by the Post.

Meyers, who began working with the company in 2010, believes, that he was unjustly fired after he “…red-flagged safety issues in the production and manufacturing process,” according to the NY Post.

Meyers also claims in the lawsuit that Delpani bullied him, using him as a “human easel during a high level meeting” by having him hold a white board during a 30-minute presentation, the NY Post reports.

According to the NY Post, Meyers saw the gesture as demeaning and noted that stress from the incident forced him to be hospitalized with chest pain.

Revlon disputes Meyers claims as “fruitless” painting him as a disgruntled employee who couldn’t handle the high demands his job required.

“Mr. Meyers repeatedly demonstrated critical lapses in judgment and failed to perform at the high standard we demand of our employees,” Revlon spokeswoman Kiki Rees told the NY Post.

Meyers is seeking unspecified punitive and compensatory damages, according to the NY Post.
